Tracker privacy

Your entries stay on your device

Built stores the daily logs, exercise notes, saved routines, custom exercises, habit labels, weekly check-ins, food diary, calorie goal history, weight and body measurements, calculator inputs, body-diagram preference, water intake entries, saved food nutrition values, prepared meals and session timer you enter in this browser's local storage. The tracker does not upload these entries to Built By White, create an account, or automatically synchronise them to another device. It does not access your phone's health records, contacts or location.

Backups and deletion

You can download a JSON backup in Your data. That file contains your tracker records; keep it somewhere you trust. Restoring a backup replaces the records in this browser. You can delete all tracker records from Your data. Clearing browser storage or removing an installed web app may also remove records. Browser storage is not a guaranteed backup.

Different browsers, devices and website addresses can have separate records. Use builtbywhite.ca/built/ consistently and download a backup before changing devices. In some browsers, the installed app may use different storage from the browser tab.

Website delivery and offline files

The hosting service receives ordinary website requests to deliver Built, which may include your IP address, browser information, requested URL and request time. These requests do not include the workout or food diary entries you save in the tracker. The tracker adds no advertising, analytics or third-party scripts.

Built saves its app files in a browser cache for offline use after the initial visit. Offline availability depends on your browser and whether it retains those files. The website's other pages and external services need an internet connection and may have their own privacy practices.

Optional online food search

Choosing Search online sends the food or brand name you typed, the country filter and the app name to Open Food Facts. That service receives your IP address and ordinary browser request information. Built does not send your food diary, calorie goals, measurements, calculator inputs, water intake, quantities eaten, saved meals, workout logs or notes with the search. Requests use no account credentials or advertising identifier. Search needs an internet connection; manual entries, saved foods and saved meals can work offline after the app files are cached.

Foods you choose to save from search are stored on your device, with an Open Food Facts source reference, and included in your backup. The database is community maintained; check nutrition and serving units against the product label. Open Food Facts privacy · Open Database Licence.

Optional website links and contact

Links to the Built By White website, Payhip, exercise references and your email app open separate services. Choosing Search the web opens Google search in a new tab with the exercise name you entered and the words “exercise technique”. Your daily logs, notes and routines are not added to that search. The search provider receives the normal browser request and applies its own privacy policy. If you contact John, the information you send by email is received through the business email provider. Avoid sending sensitive health information that is unnecessary for your enquiry.
